.A psychological ailment called health anxiety, sometimes referred to as illness anxiety or hypochondriasis, is characterized by excessive worry and preoccupation over having a major medical condition.

.Health anxiety patients frequently misinterpret ordinary body occurrences as symptoms of a serious illness, which causes them to feel anxious and distressed all the time.

.Despite assurances from healthcare providers that there is no substantial underlying medical concern, they may unnecessarily seek medical information, visit doctors regularly, and endure pointless medical tests.

.The everyday functioning, interpersonal interactions, and general well-being can all be greatly impacted by this increased focus on health issues.

.In order to control fears, reframe ideas, and lessen the suffering brought on by perceived health dangers, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and relaxation techniques are frequently employed in the treatment of health anxiety.
