As, my bio says, I was previously fit but woke up one morning to find myself middle-aged and overweight. So I’m in recovery.

The last of my friends recently left London and I’m pretty much alone in a city of 9 Million souls.

Would love to connect. I just did Week 4, Run 1 and those 5 minute runs were really in the edge of my stamina.

🍏Welcome & you will certainly enjoy this forum & all the running chit chat! Quite something to get to Week4:1 .. you say you are on the edge of your stamina… probably means you are running too fast! A mistake many of us made in the beginning… you need to slow the next one right down to snail pace so you don’t get out of breath! You can never run too slowly..

Do post & tell us about your runs & how you are finding the program.. Ages since I have been in London but I loved it! Lived in North London for 7 years

Take a look at our post about how to get through this program if you haven’t already!

Look forward to hearing from you again!

Welcome to the forum Londoneer, despite London having nearly 9 million people there havn't been many people from that great city on C25K or the other for.ums of Healthunlocked, plenty of people from little villages all over England and Wales but not many from large towns or cities.

Well done on completing run 1 of week 4, you are almost half way through the course, remember to take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, continue to post your progress on this forum, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 4. 🏃‍♂️👍good luck 🤞

Well done for getting to Week 4! That’s awesome!

Hope you’re enjoying your runs as much as I did when I started running 3-4 years ago, And this community has supported me through this running journey. You’ll find a lot of support, so huge welcome!!!

You have been a runner before, so you probably know what you can look forward to. But specifically putting in a rewarding goal of going to a Parkrun after graduating, might be something special to look forward to.

I’m rather a lone runner, but for many runners the Parkrun is the highlight of the week.

Keep on keeping on! You’re doing great!

Well done Londoneer - I know what you mean about London after having lived there a while back.

Hi Londoner. I’m not a graduate I’m on week 5 r3 , my top tip is go slow , can’t be said enough really . I’m in Liverpool a big city but can’t compare to London . My daughter has moved there so I visit , lots of steps on and off tubes ! Like you I woke up and realised I hadn’t moved in years stuck to an office chair! I’m loving getting out and learning how to increase my positive self talk there is power and strength in Me myself and I , running journey . The forum is great as we are all in it together. Looking forward to hearing more from you .
