It's addictive this running lark

So it's a rest day during week 3 today but having made what felt like a breakthrough of sorts yesterday I find i am itching to get out and do it again. However I am going to resist that temptation, follow the programme and take the dog for a long walk on the beach as by North East standards we have a near tropical October day today.

It's so difficult to find the determination to resist that urge but well done for doing it. It's the number one rule of C25K - no running on rest days. It's more than three months since I graduated and I still follow the same rule - unless you are a properly hardened athlete your legs need that rest t repair the little micro-tears.

Well done you. Please could you keep the near tropical until the back end of next week as we are treating ourselves (and Google) to a few days up there on the beach then? I'm quite willing to get on a beach in driving rain but no-one else is. Don't know if I'll be able to fit a run in but I really hope so.

It is so addictive, said the woman who always said I don't do exercise! Enjoy your walk and try some of those strength exercises we should do on rest days πŸ˜‰

Walking the dog on the beach sounds idyllic. I was up on the NE coast recently and had my first ever run on the sands and seafront. Loved it!

Enjoy yourself GM! πŸ•πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘βœ”οΈ
