Gobsmacked I’ve done W1

I’ve completed week 1! (Even though it did take me 2 and a bit weeks to actually complete).

I’m a 28 year old woman who is 23 stone. I’ve very recently had a miscarriage and it was a bit of wake up call that I need to look after myself before trying to conceive again.

I’ve invested in some wide fit trainers that feel super comfy and I’m going to buy a knee brace on payday to support my knee which got injured about 15 years ago but has been playing up since starting C25K.

With it taking me over a week to complete week 1, would it be recommended that I continue doing week 1 until I can get it into 7 days? Or am I best moving onto week 2? Or am I over thinking it all together!

Thanks for reading :)

Have a great day!

I am very sorry about your miscarriage Luckypanda56, congratulations on starting C25K with week 1, welcome to the forum, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury,. C25K isn't a weight loss app but if you do have a healthy lifestyle and diet it will reduce your weight, good luck for your running journey with C25K, if you wish report back here on your progress ✅ 👍.

🍏Welcome Lucy! Your persistence with week 1 is admirable and stands you in good stead for week 2. You have been given good advice by AlMorr & we are all here to support you. Run very slowly to avoid injuries…if the knee pain persists get some advice from a physio about strengthening exercises. Sad to hear about your miscarriage … there are no words for that except a hug from my heart. I admire your determination to live a healthier lifestyle & you are in good company on this forum. Week 2 here you come! 🤗

Words fail me at your bravery. So very well done for starting your journey to fitness. Although not that helpful for weight loss on its own C25k will build some muscle and make a difference to how you look so I'd suggest taking your measurements, I lost 3 inches off my waist by the time I graduated without losing weight. A hug from me, miscarriage takes time to come to terms with. Take extra days off between runs if you need and keep going through the programme, keep writing about your running journey and we will all be virtually cheering you on

Good luck starting this journey…take it easy and listen to your body remember it’s not a race to get to week 9 …I have gone over favorite runs from previous weeks I find this helps a lot …anyway you can do it !!! And well done for starting even moving a little can help a lot 💪

Massive congratulations - you're really inspirational, strong and admirable. I don't know if it helps but I repeated Week 2 three times because my knees were aching...and I'm too old to risk damaging them. It worked - I'm guessing the gentle build-up did the trick! I'm now on Week 5 with no knee pain whatsoever. I would take the programme as slowly as you feel is right for you - there are no time rules! Well done.
