My birthday today and I finished C25K. I was going to finish it yesterday but I had a busy day on Saturday. By the time I was up it was after 5.30 and too hot so I put off to today. It was hot at 5.30 and I was slow but I kept my heart rate down. Double celebration today.
I am doing race for life 10k in July so I hope to run at least 5k then walk run the rest.

A very happy birthday to you oldperson47 and congratulations on graduating from C25K, have a lovely birthday and tell everyone that you have completed C25K with flying colours.
Thank you all for the comments. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure when I was just starting C25K. My GP slightly surprised when I told her I was doing it but said keep going, the activity will help. I will never be fast but Denise Lewis is just so good, so motivating. I have to get out early as I do not cope well with the heat. Which is the best app for getting to 10k please
Thank you for this. One tablet had no effect, second one made my ankles swell so taken off that one and trying another one. It would be great not to take any at all so I have to keep on running then!
Many of us used the magic plan on the Bridge to 10k forum. But after graduating c25k it is recommended to consolidate the 30 minute runs for a few weeks before extending time . The magic plan takes 8 weeks.
Running 5k and walking 5k sounds a great plan for a race in July. Not so much chance of injury.
Belated Birthday wishes! Hurrah 🎂🎈🎁🎉🍰💃. I've been on blood pressure medication since I was 30,a quarter of a century ago, but I am already 5yrs older than my dad and 13 yrs older than his mother were when they died, and I'm doing all I can to buck the trend! I really hope I can do what you're doing in another 20 years, HUGE congratulations!
Thank you. I started to lose hair, patches of alopecia, and went to GP who checked my blood pressure.... not good. It was a bit of a wake up call. I do indoor rowing so tried to stay fairly fit. However I realised I had put on a bit( understatement) of weight. So C25K was started. One person who replied said they came off medication so this is my aim. Fitter and slimmer me.
Oh...I have recently tarted rowing too...so we have similar ideas! Yes, I read the post about coming off medication too. I'm not sure how realistic that is for me with family history etc but I am hoping to gradually become someone who can genuinely tick the "moderately fit - exercise at least 3 times a week" box on surveys etc!
