Ok so this slow old plodder actually completed 5ks today as my final graduation run. I knew I was close so just ran (that should be interpreted as plodded) until my phone told me I had completed the distance and lo an behold took 32.34. Cannot stop grinning, should be fun at work today with a silly grin on my face all day. Thanks for all the encouragement over the past several weeks. The plan for me now is to carry on with Laura and just try to increase my pace to get to 30mins/5k. Then I will decide what to do then. High fives to everyone.

Well done. I wouldn't call that slow plodding - a very respectable time indeed!!

Thanks GettingFitter, took me 10 weeks as I had a sore Achilles after week 1 so had to repeat that week but from then on it was all hard work but well worth it!

Congratulations - that's a really good time for 5k - beats what I can do still! I hope you feel very proud!

I feel very proud as 10 weeks ago I could just about manage the 1 minute runs. Seems a long time ago but just shows you what you can do with a bit of determination.

Excellent! Plodding?! No way! You will be doing sub30 5K within the week! Enjoy the moment and your future running :)

Ha ha until today I feel as though I am plodding along, I will see about the sub 30 minute run that seems a while off yet!

Absolutely fab Mat. Many congratulations to you and you've got your badge too! Looks great. I must say your time is pretty impressive for a graduation run so I wouldn't be surprised if you were still grinning this time tomorrow.

Wow I just noticed my badge, funny how something that others would see as insignificant makes a difference! I quite like seeing it as part of my journey. I think the grin wont go away for a little while yet!

Well done. That is a really good time (have to say that 'cos you are faster than I was). I knocked 4 minutes off in 3 months after graduation, so doing 5k in under 30 is certainly on the cards and if you do want to run a bit faster, then target sub 29 not sub 30 ! The improvements possible at this stage still amaze me.

Sub 29 umm that's a bit of a way off, but something to aim for.
