Well I did it but at the end I felt a little underwhelmed. I now its good for me health and mental wise but not the runs don't seem to get any easier. I intend to carry on 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes and see how I progress. Would love to move up to 10k eventually

Well done, there's a graduation post if you let them know through a comment that you've completed the programme you will get a graduate badge next to your name. I was counting each minute through C25k and it was a few weeks after that I suddenly realised that I was actually enjoying the running. So it will come I'm sure

Congratulations! You’ve made massive progress-that’s something to be really proud of. Not everyone gets the love for running though the couch to 5k programme. The great news is that running is big enough for you to find what you enjoy. I don’t really like a thirty minute, continuous run either and it would never be my choice-I do them if they’re on my training programme but I’d prefer shorter, or longer, or intervals broken up with walking… Now you’ve built up your base, you can start experimenting to find what makes you happy.

Maybe that will be taking on wild, hilly trails or running through forests. Perhaps you’ll be a treadmill king and whizz through all their programmes. Mix it up-shorter and longer runs (although it’s best to set your maximum at around thirty minutes for a little while so you don’t pick up an injury). New routes. Try parkrun or running with a club. You could even enter an event. It’s up to you. We’ve got a forum dedicated to building from 5k to 10k. When you’re ready, pop over!

Some people just run because it’s a good way to keep fit and never find the enjoyment, but hopefully if you are open to trying new things, you’ll find what you love.

This week’s catch up corner (watch out for that later today!) will be about post graduation running. Pop in and share your thoughts and hopefully some of our other runners will have tips for what’s worked for them too.

congratulations 👏👏👏 I graduated a little time back. I know what you mean about it not getting much easier 😟 but getting out 3 times a week and just moving is the goal for me. Good luck with your onward journey
