Managed to complete wk6, run1 before it got too warm this morning. After bouncing along doing 20 minutes on wk5, run 3, it felt tough going. Thank you AlMorr for the reminder about how tough it can be mixing things up again in wk 6!
However, it was a lovely day to run and I followed my usual cycle track route which is mainly flat and quite pretty. Nostalgia struck towards the end of the run as I passed a little stream (almost dried up today) which was a favourite spot for my kids and more recently my grandchildren, to wade in their wellies and throw endless stones in. Even the youngest grandson is no longer interested so just me to remember happy times spent there.
So this running lark has lots of benefits you don’t necessarily expect

Well done to you Rabbit561, I do agree with you that this as you call it "running lark" has lots of benefits that you don't expect, congratulations on completing run 1 of week 6, one more run with interval walks and runs, from run 3 of week 6 it's all running with no more walking breaks.
Good run to have under your belt! Well done.. Running brings many unexpected rewards but how priceless is this one! Poignant memories that come to us at unexpected moments are very precious. Thank you for sharing this one.. it conjures up an amazing picture.
