Wednesday R1, went great, feeling really optimistic about getting across the final hurdle this time. Then we loaded up the campervan, put the bikes on the back and headed off for a few days cycling in the sunshine. Again, this was great, although the longer rides were very tiring, so no running. Got back yesterday afternoon, and just stepping out of the van I felt that tug in the left calf again. A feeling of impending doom came on me and after a night's rest it's no better. ARRGH!! 😖Still, listening to my body, my run slot once again became a walk slot. Back to physio exercises (which I hadn't stopped actually) and time to wait it out again. Although I'll still walk, cycle and do my strength exercises too. I'm determined to finish this thing.
W9 jinxed! Again!!!: Wednesday R1, went great... - Couch to 5K
W9 jinxed! Again!!!
Ouch! Good luck with this - with me it was a knee twinge last week. I delayed run by one day and it turns out to be fine, I can still feel it there, but I am running without discomfort. Hope you heal soon!
Bad luck but you will finish soon I'm sure
Thanks, hopefully that will be the case. 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️
Oh no! An injury that keeps flaring is so frustrating. Trust me, I know exactly how you feel! You’re doing the right thing by not pushing it beyond what your physio has said. When you do get your graduate badge it’ll feel all the sweeter for the tricky spots along the way.
Hope you can still find some fun ways to keep yourself entertained while the runs are on pause. ❤️
Thanks. I'm going to stay positive and with the sun shining, what's not to like.
I am so sorry to hear this and you got all the way to w9.... I would be turning the air blue right now... Hope the calf gets better soon
Thank you so much. Yes, the air was blue and yes, it's more comfortable today. I did a brisk 3km walk this morning and a bike ride this afternoon. It was an ebike so I could have some assistanceon the hills, don't want to overdo it. So I'm trying to keep up the stamina and fitness levels for my return.
Ouch so sorry to hear this. Speedy recovery
