Back again, just started week 3.

I'm back, again, this time, after losing 7 stone since January (and completing C25K earlier in the year) I've restarted the program again.

I was going to do it outside but it's been too cold and wet, if I'm honest, so it's on the treadmill.

My base speed has been 1.5kph faster than previous attempts and far easier.

Still on a mainly meat based diet, although I've been playing around with it since I went on holiday in September but I'm going to reduce carbs again and stay just on the meat.

On a side note, discovered a great 'diet snack' for anyone on a keto/carnivore diet, PORK SCRATCHINGS!

I did play around with one or two of the runs so far, skipping the walk sessions on some, just testing my current fitness levels, etc, did a 5 minute jog in week 2 and an 8 minute jog on week 3 run 1.

On the 8 minute jog my HR was more than acceptable and recovery time is good too, dropping around 50 bpm over 90 seconds.

Did a 3/12/30 this morning but had to put the treadmill on 15 incline and up the speed slightly to get my HR into the higher aerobic zone. Weights and resistance band session this afternoon and then W3R2 in the morning.

Happy running everyone.

Welcome back and congratulations on your weight loss. That’s a great achievement! Lots of repeaters for all sorts of reasons-you’re in good company. Good luck!

This forum is like a really comfy pair of slippers, always great to slip into and gives a warm feeling.

Massive weakness for pork scratchings so I know what you mean there 😂 well done on your running, keep it up! Hope you are enjoying it! 🙂

Always enjoyed running, even when I was 25+ stone.

The problem with pork scratching is, if you get a good brand then they're very hard to resist and very more-ish.

That's fantastic. Its a lovely way to get outdoors into the fresh air. Yes and they tend to come in tiny bags too, I always want at least 2-3 of them! 😆

Not so much pork scratchings but I always thought of Parkrun as my pre-bacon roll run.

A fellow repeater, now about to start week 7 and just enjoying being able to get back out there.

Not had bread since February, not missed it really.Working my way back to do more Parkruns, last one I did I twisted my ankle about half way round.

Dropped my time to 45 minutes, was aiming for sub-40 prior to that happening BUT I did complete the whole run

I've been largely gluten and dairy free since May, but I will make the occasional exception. Hope the ankle mends and you crack that sub-40 soon. I'm just looking forward to maybe being able to finally get #73 done (#72 was my last run back in April).

The ankle was about 5 years ago, not had any issues since. I switched to barefoot running shoes earlier this year, too.

I eat dairy, love making cheese sauce with mature cheddar, double cream and butter.

As long as it's an animal product then I'll eat it.

I've not done as many Parkruns as you have but will be adding more when I've built the stamina back up.

I have only done one Park Run, but it finished (as I guess more than a few do) beside the cafe. I didn't even stop for coffee that time. I'm working my way back to fitness and said to my wife only the other day that I'm probably looking at mid-Jan before I can do it again. Now I am thinking of it as a pre-bacon-butty run in mid Jan!

I'm probably looking at my next Parkrun about the same time, looking forwards to it if I'm honest.

The sense of belonging I felt was just lovely. After so many solo runs, with the occasional nods to younger, faster runners, being part of a supportive group was great.

The problem though, is the urge to attempt to keep up with the younger, faster runners can be a problem.

I put a lot of pressure on myself on the last Parkrun, I did it for Charity and while it was a great cause, it started to feel like I 'had' to run, not because I wanted to but because it was expected of me (hard to explain really).

At this rate, we may all be doing our next Parkrun at the same time as I suspect it'll be around January before I'm back up to 5k distance.

🍏Welcome back!!! 🤗 Wow great weight loss!! Repeating is great because you know you can do it. Don’t forget to mix in some S&F to keep those ankles strong!

Hi Annie,

Ankles have been fine since that one time, it was my fault really, not looking at the ground I was running over, foot landed funny on a tufty bit of grass/mud and that was it.

Well done! Is this a gym treadmill?

Treadmill at home.

Weight loss was due to keto/carnivore diet.
