Jinxed at work!

Hi guys...

Well due to nightshifts again I haven't been able to run since Thursday. I'm getting used to these minor setbacks now.

But my god, I swear I'm jinxed when at work. Earlier this year I rolled my right foot while at work. It took a good 3 weeks to stop hurting. Then some weeks ago, I did the same thing again. I'm sure something must've moved out of place because afew days later I was trying to rotate my foot and I heard a pop and after that my foot was fine again. Did I mention it was the same right foot.

Now last night at work I slipped down a slight ramp. What a sight! My left leg went out in front of me and my right leg buckled beneath me causing me to land on my right knee and guess what, twisting my right foot again.

My foot isn't too bad right now but it's not 100%. I scraped the skin off my knee through my jeans and I think it's safe to say that my pride was hurt most. I felt so embarrassed that I could've got my belongings and came home.

It's funny to see someone fall but it's not funny when it's happened to you.

I've rested up today and treated myself to a Chinese as I didn't feel like cooking when I got up after working last night.

If my foot feels ok tomorrow, I'll be back out there and on to Week 8 Run 2. Need to get back over the playing field. Feel as if I've deserted it.

Hope you all have had a lovely weekend and remained on your feet. 😊

You're right there. The devil is working hard to stop me from running but it's not going to happen.

You poor thing! It is HORRIBLE when you fall over- such a shock and it can be embarrassing. You take care of yourself and look after that knee. I did week 8 run one yesterday and plan to do run two on Tuesday. I’ve decided to allow myself two days off between these longer runs. We should both be finished sooooon!

Yep we will soon be collecting our badges. I can't wait.

Ooh Donna shame. Still looking out the window this morning - your not missing anything. Cold and wet. ☔️ I have also missed a few days - work and now family visiting. Will try to get out later . We’re nearly there now 😀 hope your legs ok

To comfort you a bit, I fell a few times in the escalator in the underground (fortunately on the way up) with all my bags on my way to work. Felt really ridiculous! Had to limp to my workplace and found out I had a little hole on my shin made by the notch of the step despite the pair of trousers (which had nothing and prevented me from getting a nasty injury). Limped the whole morning at work... That was a few years ago and the hole hasn't quite disappeared. Anyway, very often that kind of accidents happens when we are under pressure to do several things at the same time. Hope your leg and foot are less sore and that you'll be able to run with no pain.

Years ago I fell while running up stairs too and up to this day, I still have the dent at the front of my left shin bone.

And you're right, I was rushing around on Saturday night doing about 4 things at once but at the time I slipped down, I was just walking from point a to b. Guess I was tired and something slippery was on the floor too.

We're learning to run, mind you lol Perhaps, next we should learn to glide... I wish you a nice rest and let us know about your next run.
