Asthma and heat, plus Stu's padding

Just done w5, r2, yet again, same route along canal (fairly flat). Less distance this time, but heat affecting asthma, peak flow rate down from about 700 on a good day to just about 500 today, so with breathing capacity reduced, I don't mind running a bit slower and less distance, at least I made the last 8 minute section into 10, so that's a gain for me. I've also altered the padding in my prosthetic. Normally the bottom of Stu does not touch my socket, my current set up is designed that contact area's are just below the knee, I am hoping to get a new leg in the near future and the socket design will be a full contact design. So today, I put a soft silicon disk in the bottom of my socket so that the end of Stu is also supporting me as well as the section below the knee. As that is a new pressure point I did not want to risk the dreaded blisters, so also took it steady because I'm off on an activity weekend in the lake district, and I would find it hard to do climbing, abseiling and canoeing with blisters. Will hopefully try same run again Friday morning when the air is cooler, I'm determined to complete week 5.

Snap well done for completing it! Asthma really effected me on Monday Evening! At my last review I was advised from the nurse Practitioner to have a puff of salbutamol before I run an if I need it will I run! This really helped on my Monday evening run still a lot slower but at least I did it! So totally get it!

Well done Petem56 excellent work

Huge well done, as ever...! The air currently is impacting so many folk with asthma or pollen related allergies too. Even here at the coast, the air is fairly dense!

You are doing incredibly and your weekend sounds amazing good fun! Hope all settles and you have a fantastic time... I think the weather is set fair!
