Well, here we are W6 done!

25mins - never thought it would happen

We chose a less undulating riverside run, perfect day of warm sunshine and a gentle cooling breeze. Pupsters running alongside, diving off for the distracting sniffs every now and then.

So, watch set (I don’t run with my phone) niko, niko; tap, tap, tap. Head in gear, slightly apprehensive. It’ll be fine. I’ll be fine. Nothing to it, we’ve done 20 mins and felt great, could take on the world……. Still apprehensive.

“That’s your five minutes up, start running.” Tap, tap, tap. Start a conversation with Mr A … nope, that’s not happening. Nothing to do with speed and breathing; single foot-worn route, he’s behind me and taken his hearing aids out because of wind noise 😂 Didn’t realise we were going that fast! 😂

Tap, tap, tap. Mind wanders, looking at the blossom, avoiding tree roots and spikey brambles across the narrow track. Tap, tap, tap. Hmm, there must be some tune I can dredge up from the memory brain cell to go with this …..

Aha! No, not the band.

Got it. “One, two, buckle my shoe; three, four, knock at the door ….” Seriously!

Ok, another. “Hey diddle, diddle; the cat and the …..” Say, what!

Next! …. “Oh, the grand ole Duke of York ….” 🙄

I give in ….. “One, two, buckle my shoe ….” Tap, tap, tap.

“That’s it, stop running. You did it!”

Woo, hoo, go us! High five!

Turn to tell Mr A about my pace-setting companion tunes …. “No! Don’t sing it” he laughs “Ear worms!” 😂

Note to self, upgrade the brain cell before W7 runs!

Earwormare great! At one time I had the theme to 'Succession' on repeat, great rhythm for a gentle run, but it's more often AC/DC.

Never got the nursery rhymes though
