Week 6 run 2 - Hello Pain! Where did you come from?

After the euphoria of Week 5, this weeks runs has been EXHAUSTING! I could feel my legs turning into jello the last 5 minutes of the 2nd 10 min run( i did speed up slightly compared to the slow pace previously) . I persevered repeating I can do it! Mentally drained though as I think I assumed my body was kinda ready - so now feel have to build the confidence back up! Here is hoping the final run of week 6 goes well.....

Lots of people get caught out by W6 after the euphoria of W5 R3 - you are in good company! 😄

The mantra is still ‘slow & steady’ - speed is for the future, if you choose. All that slow, steady running builds up your strength and, without really trying, your speed too. 😄

Thanks so much @elfe5 - it was mental, I love Michael Johnson in my ear.. but I started to get cross with him thinking "you lied - you said it would get easy!" :)

yay well done, you got through one of the toughest runs! Week 6 is a bit of a pain, especially the first two runs. Great news is, you've managed to get through it and now you've only got to worry about finding your rhythm for longer runs! 🎉 I think they are much more enjoyable than intervals, although I understand why intervals are needed to build up strength and stamina, but I was glad to see the back of them 😂 Good luck with run 3! 👣👣

Thanks so much Beatlesforever ... somehow the elation has yet to hit me! I need to try and not over analyse it too much! Supportive messages makes so much of a difference especially from people that have reached the mountain im trying to climb...

Well done for getting through them. I’m exactly the same just finished wk6r2 too and I felt like I wanted to stop after the first 5 mins. My legs felt so heavy from the get go.

We need to be kind to ourselves and remember how far we have come and say well done that we kept going and got it done.

We can do run3 💪🏻🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏻🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏻🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏻🏃🏽‍♀️

Keep me posted on how you get on 👍🏼

Oooh Movegroove - you are my running spirit buddy! Yes what is going on? .. The last few mins I though my chest was gonna burst and my legs would buckle.. figured I was in a park someone would come inspect if I passed out lol ( appropriate social distancing of course)

Yes feeling slightly better now than I did when I posted this, thanks so much! still kinda dreading the final run but will give it a proper go! Keep me posted about you too..:)

Running buddy 👋

Yeah it was tough- the last 2 mins I think I moved forward maybe 10 metres my legs were not for moving 😂

But we did it and kept going

Yeah we just have to give it a go right- I’m just going to go slow and take it easy, you going out on Friday?

yes thats the plan - let me know how you get on.. but yes dropping the pace completely!!Cmon Movegroove :0

Ooo!! You are in the same "place" as me - W6 r3. I feel so deflated in this week and the first 2 runs were HARD. I'm wondering whether to restart w6 or try w6r3 and see how I get on. I'm not enjoying this week at all. Definitely lost my progress "mojo". I'm due to go out today and I am beavering away on my uni work so it's a bit of an excuse, even though the deadline is tomorrow.
