best laid plans and all that...

I've been running every other day up through week 5 run 3 and it's been going well. I had week 6 run 1 planned for Saturday and woke up Saturday with a cold and by Saturday night I had a fever (the first in about 17 years, so it was a bit of shock :D ). I did nothing all weekend and worked from home bundled up on the sofa with a hot water bottle yesterday.

The morning I had to take the dogs to get their teeth cleaned at the vets and didn't feel too bad when I got back so I worked from home on the sofa with a hot water bottle again, just for the comfort of it :D

By the time I went to pick the dogs up in the afternoon, I was feeling a bit brighter and so I did my run tonight - it was one of the worst runs I've ever done, everything felt groggy and heavy, but I know my body well enough to know that it was just complaining about being forced out of it's cocoon and maybe a bit less hydrated than normal, but I'm glad I did it and feel physically better for having done it.

I had a good cough afterwards but it got things moving and let me cough up some stuff that was hanging around.

Onwards & upwards, might give it two days before my next one though :D

Thanks, I've been taking an expectorant for a couple of days so the worst has gone, just the run shook up some bits - it was good to get it moving, I felt less stuffed up after

Week 6, run 1 is a tough one at the best of times so well done, but take it easy and hope you’re better soon x

Thanks Sandie, I felt better at the end than at the beginning, plus James Brown's I Feel Good came on to pace me through the last couple of minutes so I couldn't make him a liar now, could I :D

A couple of days before your next run sounds sensible, especially coming up to the continuous runs.Take care
