I headed downstairs yesterday morning, I wanted to run but also wanted to get a little spraying done on my Mandalorian helmet project (long story), it was also Mrs LeeU's birthday so I needed to get stuff done before she woke up.
I did a couple of coats of filler primer and then headed in, threw the running gear on and started the treadmill, music, Garmin and then the app, 5 minutes warm up, 25 minutes joffling and a 5 minute warm down walk, I was so looking forward to it.
22 seconds before the end of the warm up walk I got a message from my eldest daughter, reminding me I'd said I'd take one of the grandkids to the local St John's for 10am. Looking at the time, 9:11, I knew I didn't have time, so I paused the Garmin, stopped the music, app and treadmill and threw some clothes on.
By the time I got on the treadmill, just before 12, I wasn't really expecting a good session, I normally run in the mornings and find runs later in the day to be harder but I was mightily surprised.
I found it easier, my HR was 9bpm lower than the same run at the end of W6 and I felt like I could have done run 2 straight after but I didn't.
Since I'm being more relaxed with the whole scheduling of runs I'm enjoying the program more than I've ever done, don't get me wrong, I loved doing the program every other time but, because I'm not doing a run every Monday/Wednesday and Friday without fail, it's just better.
7 runs left, I've lost 51lbs since January 16th, bike already to go and enjoying the whole experience.
