A delayed post for Week 7 Run 1

I headed downstairs yesterday morning, I wanted to run but also wanted to get a little spraying done on my Mandalorian helmet project (long story), it was also Mrs LeeU's birthday so I needed to get stuff done before she woke up.

I did a couple of coats of filler primer and then headed in, threw the running gear on and started the treadmill, music, Garmin and then the app, 5 minutes warm up, 25 minutes joffling and a 5 minute warm down walk, I was so looking forward to it.

22 seconds before the end of the warm up walk I got a message from my eldest daughter, reminding me I'd said I'd take one of the grandkids to the local St John's for 10am. Looking at the time, 9:11, I knew I didn't have time, so I paused the Garmin, stopped the music, app and treadmill and threw some clothes on.

By the time I got on the treadmill, just before 12, I wasn't really expecting a good session, I normally run in the mornings and find runs later in the day to be harder but I was mightily surprised.

I found it easier, my HR was 9bpm lower than the same run at the end of W6 and I felt like I could have done run 2 straight after but I didn't.

Since I'm being more relaxed with the whole scheduling of runs I'm enjoying the program more than I've ever done, don't get me wrong, I loved doing the program every other time but, because I'm not doing a run every Monday/Wednesday and Friday without fail, it's just better.

7 runs left, I've lost 51lbs since January 16th, bike already to go and enjoying the whole experience.

Had to chuckle at your post here. I totally sympathise. Fitting the runs in, particularly at the weekend, is harder than the run itself sometimes lol. Looks like you have happened across maybe a better time of day for you to run too as in performance. I personally find earlier the better works best for me and I never have the best experience on afternoon/evening runs but then I guess we are all different. Need to see a photo of the Mando helmet too when it’s completed 👍🏻

I used to run around 9pm but then tried first thing in the morning and preferred that, still do if I'm honest.

The Mando helmet is still a work in progress, it's about the 4th one I've printed, it's gone through it's first filling/sanding/priming phase but I'm not happy with it.

Needs either another round of filler primer or filling/sanding/priming again.

Once I'm happy with it I'll spray it gloss black and then cover it in graphite powder, which will give it the chromed look.

Mandalorian Helmet, work in progress.

Crud 51 pound loss? You are amazing! Well done! I am going for a saunter in the park today! Have a great time with your grandchild. They filmed “The last of us” near me last year. It was cool to recognize familiar places on the TV (The mandalorian guy was in the show).
