Hello everyone!I've been gone for quite a while...well, not gone exactly, just not running...πŸ˜”

I've had health issues for months now, including pneumonia...recovery has been very long.....however, I'm finally feeling ready to take up the reins againπŸ₯³ but, having been ill for so long, I'm not sure where to start?

I've redownloaded the c25k app onto my phone, but I'm not sure which week to jump in at. I don't think I'm back to week 1 level of unfitness......well I hope I'm not....

What think you seasoned runner peeps?

Any advice is appreciated 😊

I can't wait to lace up my favourite running shoes......but I'm scared I won't be able to do it....πŸ₯Ί

Welcome back. Many of us, for different reasons have found ourselves in a similar position. Me included. My advice...start at Week 1...no pressure...you know you what is coming. ..no need to push...and you can move on with confidence, not fear .

The programme works. And you know you can do it.

You've has a very rough time.. be kind to yourself and ease back in ...

Slow and steady x

I was out of the game for quite awhile also. I started back at week one - I figure I'm in no particular rush to graduate again, and also learned the wisdom of "slow and steady" πŸ™‚ Anyway, its more fun - contrast between this time and my very first has me smiling. I was so full of angst and doubts first go - gremlins had a feast back then πŸ˜‚ Now it's just one foot in front of the other and enjoying the entire experience πŸ™‚

Thank you, I'm almost excited to see how different it is this time, I've decided to go with good advice and I'm going out shortly, to begin at week 1....

This is my third time in seven years - last time was after being on the IC with a dislocated hip so I really took it easy :)I found out not only how enjoyable it is to take it a tad easy, but very interesting to be able to focus on exactly what my body does when I run - how I can tense up without realising it for instance :) Made me a far more efficient runner :)

Good luck, I have had a 2 month break due to Achilles tendinitis. I had got up to week 7 previously. I restarted at week 2, more to see how my Achilles would cope, but actually was pleased I did, as I managed well but it wasn't quite as easy as I thought it would be from an overall fitness perspective. I would advise just give it a go on week 1, and if it's too easy jump to week 2 next, but if not easy, listen to your body and pace yourself, nothing wrong with doing it properly for long term benefits.

I would side with the majority here and start over from week 1. I had three months out back end of last year and decided to go back to W1 R1 and was so glad I did. Like a couple have pointed out you know what’s coming and you know it works. Good luck whatever you decide to do and great to hear you’re over your pneumonia πŸ‘πŸ»
