I am loving this programme so far, I love the intervals as they are just challenging enough. I am definitely quite tired this week though as couldn't take any rest days between and my legs and ankles are quite sore, lots of rest in between now and Monday though so hopefully I'll return well rested for week 3!🏃♀️
Week 2 completed!: I am loving this programme so... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 completed!
Hi followthearrow , welcome, and well done on completing week 2 of C25K!
Please, please don't skip the rest days in between run days though. I know life gets in the way, and it's great to feel we're progressing, but it's better to have an extra day (or two) between run days than not to take one, certainly at this early stage of the programme.
In fact it's advisable not to run on consecutive days until you've been running for at least six months, or even a year or so, to allow your body to build up gradually and to reduce the risk of injury.
You've perhaps already had a read of the programme guide, but if not, do check it out: healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy C25K!
Well done on completing week 2.
Do always take the rest days though .
As we run we produce micro tears in our muscles and these need time to repair .
If you are running again before this repair process has taken place then you are more likely to pick up an injury .
As many new runners have found out to their cost .
As Cmoi has said, better to have more rest days than to miss any .
Enjoy week 3 🙂👍
Well done you...slow and steady as you go!
