Week 2 completed

Finished Week 2 and glad I have completed it. I am dreading next week as I struggled with week 2. Where I live there is no flat terrain to run on so I make the most of it. My last run of week 2 was at snails pace. Keep thinking I am doing it wrong. Confused.com.

It took me to beyond graduation before I tackled hills. I completed C25k on the flat. Trying hills now and they really slow me down but build stamina. If you are doing them by necessity at this stage you are doing really well.

I still think I'm doing it wrong and I start week 8 next week! I remember at the end of week 2 I was exhausted by the end of each podcast. And I mean completely wiped out. I too thought I was running (actually I couldn't even call it running) at a snail's pace and I struggled with week 3. I didn't actually post on this forum until week 5 when I got the brilliant advice to 'slow down and slow down some more'. I didn't think it was possible but it was. I slowed until I was almost running on the spot. Also I didn't know about keeping myself hydrated, that helped no end. I know I didn't have any inclines to contend with, so you have done amazingly well if you haven't had flat terrain to run. Go as slow as you can. Is there anywhere, even with a small footprint where you won't have hills? If so, take advantage of it :) Well done on completing week 2 and good luck with week 3. Slow and steady does it.

You're never alone on this forum. Everyone has been right where you are now. This is the most encouraging place I know :)

Jazzi14 you are doing brilliantly well. I just graduated this week and I still have dealt with hills!!

We all start off slow, don't worry about speed. It the endurance that is important at the moment, as long as you finish each stage that is all that matters.

I remember being worried about week 3, but it is surprising how much your body will adapt to in a short space of time ;)

You are doing so well Jazzi !

That must be tough having to cope with hills , but you're tackling 'em and it will do wonders for your stamina !

Take extra rest days if needs be , no pressure !

Keep going , you're doing great ! :-) xxx

I did C25K in a hilly place too, hard isn't it? The downs are as hard as the ups I found. Just go as slow as you need to, you will have buns of steel in a few months!

Well done you!! 😀 Brilliant. My running pace has got slower thanks to the advice I've received from this forum and when I find it really hard I somehow manage to go even slower!! However I don't stop and I am learning that thats the trick even when as McFitty says you feel like you are running on the spot. I have hilly terrain too and it is hard and sometimes when I hit a hill I feel like I am running backwards!!

Congrats on finishing week 2 🎉 and onwards to week 3
