Hey all - new here!

I’m a bit nervous about stepping it up for Week 2 - it felt like week 1 was the max I could handle. my running kit is looking at me all laid out etc 😂

I guess I’ll head out and see how it goes.

Did many people Here have to repeat the early weeks? If so would you repeat single runs or whole week blocks?

The only time I repeated a week was when I picked up a calf injury in week 6. Otherwise I ran according to the plan, always making sure that I ran very slowly. I was surprised to find how quickly the little niggles caused by each run cleared up during the rest day. I was 66 at the time and no athlete….I am just saying that you may manage better than you think. If you do need to repeat a run, no big deal. Lots of people do that. Confidence building is all part of the package.🙂

hi there well done with progress. Relaeting any run is fine and from my point of view sometimes wise and necessary- I repeated run 3 week 3 for a whole month ! Got my stamina up, lost a bit of weight and was able to carry on without as many aches and pains.

I agree. I repeated a lot, but knew I was still doing a lot more than sitting in rhe couch. What works for you is the best approach.

Great update! I’ve often felt nervous starting runs. I thought it might go away with experience but it hasn’t-ice just got better at managing then, It isn’t always logical-I’ve run half marathon distance but sometimes feel worried about running for thirty minutes. Our brains are funny things!

The way I deal with it is mostly to remind myself that I’m ready for the run because I’ve done all the other runs before to get me to that starting line. Then I start with the mindset that I’ll just give it a go and see what happens. Most of the time, I finish my run. On the times that I don’t, I celebrate anything positive I can find about it, remember that it will still have made me fitter and stronger, and I can just try again another day. There’s no pressure at all to do every run perfectly the first time. That’s not the way anyone learns any new skill! Having challenges and things to overcome along the way are totally normal and they make you a better runner.

Hope that’s not too much of a ramble! I remember thinking that worrying about completing a run was only something newbies did, but I wanted to reassure you that it isn’t!

I felt like this every week and for every run! It just seemed too much of a step up! Last week I finished the programme and graduated so the programme works - just trust in yourself and take it slow - no need to stress about it too much - just go out and see how it goes - you might surprise yourself.
