Well, that's the first week down - roll on week 2 😊 Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to stretch/ strengthen ankles? I feel like they are my weak point at the moment.

Welcome and well done you...!!

I hope you have checked the pinned post on How to Run C25K already...lots of great information and advice there.

As for those ankles..

Links here to a S and F post... and one specifically for feet and ankles too!

Loads of other super ideas on the S and F forum, to keep your running body in tune:)

As your runs get longer, you will find that increasing some strength and stamina work on some of your rest days will be so useful too!

Keep it slow and steady and enjoy!

Thank you so much. I have read the information and make sure to stretch before and after. I just worry whether my ankles will hold out as I'm really enjoying running this time round and would be gutted if I had to stop due to a preventable injury. I will definitely look up the S and F exercises, thanks again 😊

The ankle ones are good..I strengthen mine for when I trail run..I'm 73...short exercises and ones you can do whilst cleaning your teeth!!!

Great progress-that’s really something to be proud of. The links provided by Β Oldfloss are really worth a look.

One thing I’ve discovered is that pain or weakness in one part of your body isn’t necessarily down to issues there. My hips are causing me knee problems. It’s worth working more widely than just the areas you’ve identified as issues. Strength and flex all over is worth investing time in early in your run journey to help ward off problems later.

Really good luck to you! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
