I wouldn’t say it gets easier, but you will find that as you move on you are able to do it, and will surprise yourself. Just keep it slow, slow slow 😁

It never gets easier - you just get better.

Eventually you will find it easier. As your body gets more used to running and you get fitter everything will happen naturally. Just keep your running really slow . Well done you 😊😊

Keep going! You're doing brilliantly. You will get so that you wan't to get out and do it, even if it doesn't feel "easier" at the time. And each run, you're going that little bit further..... Just remember what everyone else has said, slow, slow, slow. No rush.....!

Definitely gets better. I felt same way week 1 and didn’t think I could carry on but now on week 7 and have surprised myself. Keep going and feel proud of starting such a positive plan. Best wishes. X

Thank you, I’m gonna stick with it, I scared myself abit by looking through the weeks to come and thought not a chance can I do that. But let’s see.

Most of us felt like that but we did it and are still here. There will be some weeks where you will need a bit of grit and determination but that feeling when you have achieved a difficult run, magic.

Well done.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Each run the challenge steps up......each week you will amaze yourself that you can do it.

Make sure you are going at the pace recommended in the guide.

You got this.

Enjoy your journey.

The runs slightly increase in length each week. You will be amazed on how quick you will progress.

Don’t look ahead at the runs just take each week as it comes and know that the previous week was the training you needed to be able to complete the new week. It works, C25K is a brilliant plan. Good luck and enjoy 🙂

Yes it does. No, really, it does! Takes time though, and the right frame of mind. Keep reminding yourself what you've achieved already. Believe in the program. Slow down if you're uncomfortable. And just keep reading and posting here! W1 complete - well done, you've got this 🙂

It does because this brilliant programme is preparing you with every run for what comes next. I started C25K in July and I remember very well how desperate I was for each one minute run to end. I graduated at the end of August - two weeks after my 60th birthday - and ran my first 5K race a couple of weeks later. You are about to amaze yourself. Keep going, keep checking in here, and you'll succeed like so many others before you. You've done the toughest part. That was W1R1.

As someone else said, it's more that you get better. You get used to going out and running. When I first started it, I was exhausted for the rest of the day and wasn't sure about continuing as I felt so unfit, but someone told me to make sure I drank water when I got back and ate a banana (or something) - both really helped with the fatigue.

Yes it does get easier just keep it slow and you will see. Watch the Japanese slow running video on you tube. Well done you’ve completed week 1 👏

Every week is a challenge but every week is possible. Just remember to trust the program and go out knowing you CAN do it. It’s brain training just as much as anything! Good luck
