Happy to wish you luck Crow277 !

I will say, though, you don't need to smash anything. Not the individual runs, not the programme, and certainly not yourself.

Going at things hell for leather isn't the best way to complete C25K, nor to run further or faster. You don't want to burn out, you want to keep going.

Well done, but you maybe do need to wait until that chest is feeling a tad easier. We do recommend as a general guideline, the neck rule.

I quote;

"The idea being that symptoms that are involving the neck and below - so that's sore throats, coughs, chest congestion, bronchial infections, body aches, chills, vomiting, diarrhea or swollen glands - require time off from running.

Whereas any symptoms above the neck - a runny nose, stuffiness, or sneezing (what some people may refer to as a 'head cold') - generally don't indicate anything more serious, and so don’t require time off."

Basically ,if you are feeling that burning.. there is probably something that needs to heal.

Have a couple of days off maybe? The runs will wait:) We will make sure you get though this, but you do need to be fit and well:)

I agree with Oldfloss . It’s so tempting to want to start running again really quickly after an illness but I do wonder whether you might have gone a little early if your chest is burning as you run.

There was a helpful article I came across when I was returning after illness.

womensrunning.co.uk/health/...

Worth a read.

Wishing you a full recovery ❤️
