Short and Sweet !

I am happy to of completed w8 r2 and again was mighty chilly at first , but as we all know our bodies soon warm up when running , that is a big bonus in this British weather . By the time I had ran 28 mins and got home I was super hot and the cold weather mattered not a jot . The thing is I have no clue as to distance covered and I see others have apps and can track their distances , I didn't feel this was important at first , but I am now thinking this would be useful as I enter the final week or so of c25k. Does anyone else think it really don't matter as long as you ticked off the 30 mins non stop running , or like I am thinking now, be silly not to get an idea of distance covered , especially if one is looking to move up to the 10k programme as I hope to do . Maybe I am over analysing at this point of my journey 🤔🤔 Hope you all had happy ,fun filled weekends and good luck one and all 🙏

I think what you’re experiencing is what is I call the “I’m nearly finished gremlins”! You’re nearly there. You don’t need to do anything differently-you can trust the programme and you can trust yourself!

You don’t need to start tracking now. If you want to, I’d consider leaving it until you’ve graduated so it doesn’t throw you off on your final week. It’s totally up to you though. Some people like to track but it really isn’t necessary for c25k graduation. It’s just about doing the thirty minute runs. Not knowing your distance covered now really won’t make any difference to running 10km in the future!

If you’d like some reassurance that distance doesn’t matter, have a look at this post from  Instructor57 .

Really good luck with those last programme runs! You’re doing brilliantly 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Thanks so much ,I would be telling porkies if I said it is of no interest to me if I have covered 5k in the 30 mins , but you are right , at this time its not important . Perhaps when graduated , ark at me when lol , If I graduate I will download some app to phone and get an accurate distance covered , just to see where I am at , bearing in mind 2 months ago was sat on my not so big butt on the Mucho big couch , Thank you Miss 🙏🙏🙏🤓

Totally get that! You absolutely could still track your next run if you want. I just know that if it was me, I’d be either disappointed that I wasn’t going as far as I wanted or a bit too overconfident that I was going further. Both of those options would likely make me push myself harder and potentially ruin my last programme runs. I think it would be different if you’d been tracking all the way through so it wasn’t a big change.

I think you can confidently say “when I graduate”! You’re so nearly there. Nothing apart from seriously bad luck will stop you now. 🏃‍♀️💪🏃‍♀️

You are very good , if I had tracked previously I wouldn't be thinking this way , would be more of my Strava for example says I only did 3.3k in my 28 mins and that would deflate me for sure . I nearly did download an app but my phone so poor don't think battery could handle music, laura and say Strava all at once no way ! Thanks again I just gonna finish programme and then be totally amazed at my super long distance covered in a consolidation run lol , I always like to dream 👍😊

MissUnderstanding has said it all, and given you wonderful advice, When I ran C25K back in the dark winter of 2015m all I had was my watch to tell me how long I had been out and Laura's voice on my phone in my pocket. I had no idea other than from experience as a walker of about how far three miles was!

Keep on doing what you are doing and take it steady and slow and enjoy! Graduate you will, with flying colours! x

Sounds to me like you are doing absolutely fine !Your graduation is not far away.

You have had the best of advice so far,

Please don't be concerned about distance or pace at this stage.

Although it is very common to think that way but your best development will come by running at a conversational pace , not only to finish the program but also through a recommended period of consolidation where you continue to run for 30 minutes.

Relax, and just enjoy your journey 🙂
