Fantastic! Don’t focus on the things you haven’t done-think about what you have achieved! You’ve done a brilliant thing in getting started. That first one is often the toughest. You’re now a runner who ran today and when you come to do your next run in a few days fine, you’ll have the reassurance that you ran recently and it was good!

There’s a brilliant little guide to the programme here with lots of helpful hints and tips.  Well worth a read.  Most important is keeping it slow and steady at a pace where you can talk in full sentences without gasping.  Most of us go too fast! Recovery days between runs are absolutely essential too. healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

Really good luck! Any questions, updates, thoughts or whatever, keep posting. We love chatting about running here and we’re very friendly! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

EDIT: cross posted with  Instructor57 . The program guide is such essential reading that you got it recommended twice in five minutes!

Very well done. WARNING NOTICE: there is the risk of addiction.

I love that - “I ignored myself and did it.” Spot on. As MissUnderstanding says, that first run really is the hardest. Now there’s nothing to stop you. When in doubt, go slower and always trust the plan. Best of luck.

Oh how very well done, that first run is a toughie and if you let yourself think about it that makes it even harder, but you'll never have to do the first run again so you've won 😃

Absolutely Brilliant 👍

I still find it quite difficult getting out of the house, but, as you rightly said, just ignore yourself and do it! I’m beginning to find it easier.
