Week 2 Run 1

My earphones died in the warm up and I almost gave up to go home BUT I DIDN'T!.

I really hate hearing the sound of my own out-of-breath-ness as it makes me feel I'm struggling more than I probably am; when I have music playing, I don't hear it. It's not easy to check whether my earphones are running out of battery so I suspect it's going to happen again. Any tips?

Well done.

If you can hear that you are out of breath, then you need to slow down.

Your body will develop most effectively at a pace at which you can speak aloud clear ungasping sentences.

If you are breathless then you do not have lungs full of the oxygen necessary for optimal development of new mitochondria.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

Run without them again, so you can make sure as IannodaTruffe says, that you are running at a comfy pace:)

Check on the make of your earphones and see what the running time of full battery power is, from charging when empty?

Well done for not giving up anyway!

Mine went through a stage of stopping after a short time, I gave them swipe over and they worked fine after that, build up of sweat or whatever stopped the contacts connecting to recharge properly, might be worth a try

best tip I ever got from a very experienced runner was to slow down. As she said, you can build on your pace as you get fitter but just do the workout consistently and over time the breathlessness will go. Im doing the c25k again and am jogging at a pace not much faster than a walk. Thats better than running fast one or 2 days then giving up.

Also maybe think about your breathing. Are you drinking a lot if water just before or during your workout? This makes me breathless. You might be also shallowly breathing which makes you sound out of breath, how about deeply breathing like this " in -2-2-3 out 1-2-3" this helps me anyway

Best of luck
