I have just looked at my profile and it shows I haven't posted for 2 years... shame on me. Where on earth has the time gone?
I know where it's gone actually, and during lockdown one I had some pretty difficult stuff to deal with (not cover related), which sapped a lot of my time and energy. I did however manage to keep running... mostly. I even joined a GoodGym group. So having always vowed to being a lone runner, I've actually learnt to be sociable while running with a group and doing some good deeds in the community too.
Then having what started as a part time job found it has gradually grown to take over a large part of my free time. I found I could find time to run (just about), but just didn't have time to catch up in the forums or to post anything at all.
More recently, having avoided the plague for the last two years, I dropped my guard (and my mask) at an event in London and caught Covid, which completely wiped me out for the best part of three weeks. With room spinning vertigo and muscles which felt like they'd been through a mangle I couldn't even think about walking let alone anything any more energetic.
But now I need to get back to running again. So this morning saw me out of the door having dosed up on my inhaler to try and convince my lungs that they can try to function normally (still finding post Cover breathing a bit of a challenge). I managed a slow 5km, with Mr R texting me to check if I had collapsed in a heap and was in need of a lift home. I manage to complete the circuit back home before crumpling in a pile just inside the front door.
Hoping to get back in here a little more often. Good to see many familiar names. I've got a lot of catching up to do.
happy running everyone.

Welcome back Razouski it’s good to hear from you again! Sometimes life just gets in the way, doesn’t it? I’m glad you’ve been able to keep up the running and that you managed to get out again despite the best efforts of Covid😷 to stop you 👍 It’s very strange how people are affected differently😳Wishing you a continuing speedy recovery and good luck with everything! 😊
Hello again, it's good to know you've still been running - well mostly. Life does go in unexpected directions sometimes. Covid really knocked the stuffing out of me too, although the original illness was just like a really bad cold/flu, the after-effects stopped me in my tracks for weeks - I'm proceeding with caution! Hope life is a little easier, and easier to manage, for you now.
I usually run 10km three times a week, but I think I'm going to have to build up really gradually. I'm also going to have to go on a bit of a man hunt to see if I can find my Mojo as it seems to have gone awol while I was laid up!
Nice to see you back . . . I totally understand, I'm in similar position; trying to build up my running distances again after a period of health issues . . . we will get there! 👍😀
Hey! Welcome back Razouski ….wow, it has been YONKS! It’s so good to see you back on here and good to hear you’re still running ☺️
Sorry that you were wiped with covid, it has been an awful couple of years for so many people. I have managed to dodge the bullet (touch wood)…don’t know how my already wheezy lungs would cope?!?!
No need to tell you coz you already know but slow and steady…be kind to yourself and I’m sure you’ll soon be back up to 100% x
Hi Mummycav, good to see you too. Yes, it’s definitely slow and as steady as I’m able given that Covid has made my room spinning vertigo worse. But I’m doing my best. Managed a 6km plod this morning. Took me 39 minutes and a lot of puffing and panting 😮💨 too .
