Awake at 4 this morning due to my dog, who's been a bit peely-wally, wanting to go out. Dog settled but try as I might I couldn't get back to sleep. So at 6 I thought I'll go for my run. I was hoping to beat the French heat. All set - but as I walked towards the door so did the dog 🙄 So off we went to the woods instead. As I drove back I saw such a beautiful view so thought I'd just run back this way and get a picture even though it wasn't my planned route. After I'd taken the snap I thought that Jo Wiley was incredibly quiet only to discover that my app had turned itself off - it wasn't me!! So, back to square one. Fiddling about I managed to kind of get myself back to where I'd left off - just an extra minutes running but I got back to the house too early so had to run past it and then walk back. What a performance!
NEXT RUN - BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD..... - Couch to 5K
NEXT RUN - BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.....
Well done on seizing the day! I had to look up what peely-wally meant though 😁. That is an amazing view, I’m not surprised you turned back to take a photo. Ah tech, it really has a mind of its own sometimes doesn’t it. A great run for you today 😊😊😊.
Peely wally:- old Scottish word for looking very sickly or pale
How lovely to get out so early, to feel happy that you went lasts all day. That view, just perfect
Looks lively. Despite the tech failure!
Hey! You were/are in Céret! My summer and autumn home. If you’re still there end of August, fancy a run? I will be doing the short Ronde Ceretane in September.
You're a brave man running in that heat! For the past 5 years I've said 'next year' but what with injury then Covid I've never managed it. I thought you had to get a doctor's certificate to run the Ronde Céretan? I'm going back to Blighty on Saturday - coming back in September - not sure when though. I'll post when I'm back and then who knows?
I run very early during the hot days. Things should a lot more reasonable in the second half of September.
Yes, you do need a doctor’s certificate. In France you’ll have to pay the usual consultation fee (€24?) which might include a symbolic BP test.
In the UK you might get your GP if they have a smattering of French to sign and stamp (very important) the simple form.
I ran the 10km Ronde last year and found it truly appalling. So I’m reverting to the shorter run this year.
À bientôt, peut-être.
Where do you actually GET the form? My GP's wife is french so I could get it done if I felt I was fit enough. I'd like to enjoy it though. I'll maybe get a form and see nearer the time. Tout est possible!
Go to the Ronde Ceretane website and follow the link to the Medical Certificate. It’s a general one and is valid for a year. All meetings websites should have a link to the certificate.
Sometimes the camera app can squeeze out other running apps due to it taking over a lot of internal memory, especially on Android. I found this often happened to me.
Oh, how I can relate to that one. 💖
Well done for motivation...and beautiful photo too.
We all have days like that, but you made the most of it so that's a definite win!I thought peely- Wally meant your doggie needed to go out for a night wee!! 🤣🤣
