Solstice sunset run

I don't normally run at this time of day but knew it would be a hot one, couldn't drag myself out of bed early enough to run before the school run and thought it would be a fitting way to see out the longest day. It was W9R1 and for once I left my phone at home and enjoyed the birdsong. I'm so glad I did as after about 5 mins running a small Muntjac deer dropped out of the hedge and just stood calmly watching me approach for a while before crossing the lane immediately in front of me and disappearing into the opposite hedge! It was magical - might have to run at this time of day more often.

The downside is that no phone meant no photo, so posting it here to record it instead 😊

How lovely to see the muntjac! I ran without my phone on Monday, not as magical as your run but it made a change! Well done in your 1st W9 run. Nearly there!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸ₯°

Eek, only 2 more runs to go! What's it like on the other side?! Have you managed a consolidation run yet?

It's actually great on the other side!!

I did my first consolidation run on Monday and found it as tough as W9R1, but today's run I really enjoyed! I realise I need to keep the Monday, Wednesday, Friday routine going, otherwise it would be easy to let it slide - and I'm not wasting this fitness for anything! Enjoy your last two runs πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ₯°

Good advice, I definitely don't want to let all this hard work go to waste!

I go running at 5.30 or 6 in the morning and live in the country side, so muntjac, rabbits, cows, horses and alpacas are a daily occurance for me. Right on my door step. I ventures out too early this morning for week 9 run 1. I had taken no more than 3 steps and went flying tripping over a big tree root. Hurt my wrist, sore rib and a grazed shoulder.

I got myself up and dusted myself down. No one around to see what happened, at least. I was going to turn back and go straight back home, but then decided to walk the run. After a couple of minutes walking I realized there was nothing wrong with my legs, so off I went and I did my first half hour run. YAY!

I managed to do my stretches too. Wrist and rib feeling more sore now than this morning.

Fingers crossed I will be out there for Run 2 Friday morning.

Happy running my fellow runner πŸ™‚

Oh no, well done for completing your run, I hope you recover quickly.

As you say, one of the advantages of running early is that there are less people about! I always seem to bump into someone at the very top of a hill and never when I'm sailing effortlessly down the other side πŸ₯΅
