I checked the weather forecast yesterday, as I usually do the day before I run, to find that weather warnings were in place for high winds! But I thought I would get up anyway and see. Well, yes; it was windy. I decided to go!
I knew that my heart rate was already up a little. Iโd had an anxious day and night, but I hadnโt really appreciated how much it would affect my run. I had a challenging time keeping my heart rate in Zone 3. Battling the wind probably didnโt help, not to mention going through some long grass. Iโd already decided that I would take a slightly different route this morning, a mixture of track and trail, giving me the opportunity to don my lovely Salomon trail shoes!
The infamous Deadend track was still part of this route and when youโre running slowly, it does seem to go on forever and itโs particularly exposed to the wind. Actually, everything is exposed to the wind here, Iโm in the fens and there isnโt much shelter ๐.
I was aware that I was covering less distance than the last time I went on a long, slow run. I decided that I would run for 1hr 15min this morning and hopefully cover 7K. For the last 15 minutes I encroached I into Zone 4. It still wasnโt much effort and it was my run, so I allowed it!
I enjoyed the run! Although it was windy, itโs a lovely morning here and a joy to be out running. I did have to dive into the hedge when a lorry ๐ passed by a bit close for comfort!
All in all a good run! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐ฌ
