W7R1- a change of scenery

So I’m working in Edinburgh this week (miles away from home) and I had a dilemma of whether I should take my running gear with me or or not? Im so pleased I did … Whilst this run is a day later than planned, the change of scenery was well worth it. Running ‘stuff’ really doesn’t take up much space in my suitcase either so I’m planning to make this one of new habits… running in different locations. It was a lovely fresh and sunny morning in the city today too.

Glad you had a good run. Lovely photo. Enjoy Edinburgh. It’s one of my favourite cities.

Enjoy your stay in Edinburgh, you could run in Princess Street Gardens or have a run around Calton Hill with beautiful views of The Firth of Forth looking east almost as far as The North Sea or north towards Fife, the 3 Forth Bridges and if very clear The Scottish Highlands.

What a change of scenery it is too! Love the pic.

Great job out there and I look forward to seeing many more posts of your running tourism!

Running in new places is a great idea. I had the same decision a few weeks back; so glad I took my gear and maintained my schedule.

One of the things that attracted me to running was that it can be done anywhere. Travelling for work pre-covid, I was often jealous that my boss would have been out exploring a new location on a morning run, whereas my favoured exercise/sports weren't practical when travelling. I didn't think I could be a runner though, until I found c25k during lockdown. I have only been on one work trip since, but I was determined to take my running kit with me and really enjoyed my run. I've also run when away on holiday, and it's really nice to get out and see some new things.
