I went to my local GoodGym a couple of weeks ago as a newbie (it’s a combination of exercise and doing a good deed in the local community) and walked to the task as “I’m not a runner”
I enjoyed it but felt a little bad that others had to walk with me so I wasn’t left behind. That inspired me to try a run. And I started doing couch to 5k as a result.
Last night I went to my second GoodGym and was able to run with them to and from the work site. It was only half a mile each way but it feels like great progress.

That sounds brillant. Congratulations on starting c25k and for making progress. I heard about GoodGym recently and thought it is great idea. Thinking about going to one near me.
We are all capable of doing way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increasing our injury risk. Sticking to gently progressive training plans is the safest way to push our limits, whilst gently increasing our resistance to injury.
Please stick to the plan and don't exceed it's demands while doing your Good Gym. Injury often strikes out of the blue and can stop you for days, weeks or even months.
Welcome! I’m impressed already, everyone I know who does GoodGym was a runner first! Two half mile runs wrapped around a good deed, there’s no “only” there. Every run gives you something, and this one gave someone else something too… that’s amazing to me.
