Run in the sun

Today, me & first born ran our graduation route alongside the river Towy. For the first mile I had the usual "what on Earth am I doing" as I puffed away but then the switch went on & I was away. It was my first proper run for almost 2 weeks when I didn't need to call for rescue so I was very pleased. Ran up and down some steps I found along the way & met an old friend I haven't seen in years & who just happens to be involved in my local park run so I am off to be Marshall on 15th April. I greeted a few runners along the way too. Best of all though was that I finally managed to run up a hill whoo hoo. All in all it was an excellent run - I am so glad I went. Just love running πŸƒ πŸƒ

Hi Jalapeño, wedding plans are coming along nicely & she isn't getting stressed out. Yes we are still running, still trying to get out 3 times a week; been scuppered in the last 2 weeks by colds but back with it again yesterday. Best of all is that we are both still loving it, have 2 5k fun runs coming up & I marshalling at my first ever Parkrun on 15th April 😁😁

Hill running.. wonderful.. ( I manged three, ( not too steep), yesterday).

Funnily enough, I had a 'what on earth..moment too, yesterday.. first run aged 67.. ( birthday was Monday).. talk about toxic ten minutes... :) But like you, it soon passed:)

Your run sounds lovely and with company too...are you in Carmarthenshire? Daughter was a Planning Officer in Ceredigion... I love it all around those areas :)

We are so lucky aren't we... us runners :) x

Hi Oldfloss, yes, I live in Carmarthen & we were running along the Towy from Johnstown to Carmarthen. I am an import here & I just love it here. We are very formulate that the scenery is just beautiful. I don't know where that thought came from; maybe because I was still trying to get my pace & breathing right & I haven't been out for a good run for almost 2 weeks. It soon passed though. Happy belated birthday. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

It takes a while to get back into running, when you haven't been out for a bit - I'm still not quite up to where I was!!But it's lovely to be able to run in the sunshine rather than the dark or the rain isn't it! πŸŒžπŸƒ

It is very different running in the sun because I am used to running in the dark & it is usually raining. I was only out for a week but it certainly makes a difference - motivation back up high now 😊

You not the only one to find it tough in the first 10 mins of a run, especially after a break,it happens..😊

I always find the first 10 mins the worst part but then the endorphins kick in & I am away 😊😊
