Restart running after 4 weeks off.

I graduated 4 weeks ago, for a number of both reasons & excuses I haven’t run since.

Today I decided to run for 8 mins & I’ll build up over the next few weeks, then I will consolidate the running. My aim is to run a ParkRun.

Absolutely, don't give up !Get yourself back to 30 mins then consolidate and think about what you want from your running !

I'm sure you have probably seen this but have another look .

8 minutes today, perhaps 10 or 12 minutes next run?

As your legs are already used to running (with a bit of time off) you can advance up to 30 minutes a little quicker than someone (re)starting from scratch.

If you were coming back from injury I'd be suggesting caution.

(C25K uses a progression of 8, 9, 9, 16, 20, 25, 25, 28, 30 minutes.)

Yay! Welcome back! You'll be surprised how quickly it comes back!

Good job that’s one step in the right direction-slowly does it.

Well done on your ‘getting back to it’ run, it becomes harder to restart the longer it goes on. The weather has mostly not been very motivating either. A Park run is a good thing to aim towards. I’ve done a couple now after resisting them for months. They’re good fun and I can now see why people get up and out early every Saturday😎

Yay hells_bells2207 , well done for again motivating yourself to get back to running after a few weeks of not running. You will be at 30mins in no time.I think as with c25k, we are probably starting parkruns at the same time too. I did my first ever parkrun yesterday :) How did your's go?
