Just to note for the plodders and fatties starting out! No one is more amazed than me after more than a year that my sausage legs are still keen to carry on, still improving, still at it, and even todays not great 10.24km/hr, (having had a few weeks off as I couldn’t get out), still faster than that couch 😂.
Still hanging about in consolidation - Couch to 5K
Still hanging about in consolidation
Great to see you’re still out there and enjoying yourself. I’d argue that your happy pace is always great though! Those figures are insignificant compared to the physical and mental health benefits or exercise.
This was exactly the post I needed to see today Voldatort 👍
I'm really struggling with continuity just now after covid last October and a post viral relapse after Christmas. I have done an odd 20 minutes here and there but my mojo is definitely NOT working.
Your post has given me hope that I can get back into the groove, so thank you so much for putting it out there 🙏🏃♀️
same, same friend. One run at at time eh? I've struggled to get myself out today but knowing the nice weather window is closing gave me that push today. Get the kit ready. Put it on. Then you might as well get out that door! Check in with me tomorrow to tell me how you did x 👍🏼😏👏
Huge well done you...still out there and still doing it!Love it... in the forums we come in all shapes and all sizes, all ages and all different levels of ability, the best bit is , we are all here together, supporting each other and doing it in our own way.
Since you are a graduate, you did it your way and completed C25K, so maybe time to lose the title you have given yourself, and give those legs are new persona?
Maybe they might take you on to even greater things?
I started out in here in 2015 as the Original Grey Snail ( aged 65)... slow and steady was and still is the mantra for which I am famous, ( or should that say infamous)?
Over the years I have evolved... no longer a Grey Snail, but a yellow one Still slow and steady but still enjoying (72 next Sunday )
Happy birthday Oldfloss! Turning 55 next week and just completed C25K yesterday. Whoop whoop! I'm so chuffed to be able to run for 30mn, something I would never dreamed of a few weeks ago.
I still pootle around the 4-6km mark after a year, I had hoped to get further and probably could if I put my mind to it, but I really enjoy just doing that. I suspect there are a lot of us.
We do what we like doing Voldatort - I’m a snail too and the opposite of a sleek young thing! Didn’t start running until I was 66 and accept that I may never get much faster than I am now - in fact about the same as you at between 10 and 11 mins per km. I can walk faster than that! Don’t care - I’m still running and who knew I’d ever do that! Enjoy!
Yay! I made the date with the treadmill 😁 Not fast, not pretty (it never is!) 🤣 but I did it!
I've gone back to week 6 of the C25K programme and managed run one comfortably but enough to make me a bit achy and out of puff, so I think it's a good place to start.
Now to keep that mojo working 👍💪🏃♀️
yayyyyyyy! Now I feel guilty for not going out. But I will ! 😬, 3.51km better than the couch 👏 go you 🙌..and kept going!
