I found the link to the C25k website through Facebook when a friend's fitness coach posted it up. I managed a 10k five years ago, through some kind of idiot willpower and not a lot of training, but running in general has never been my thing. However, I've lost 3.5 stone in the last year and thought it would really help shift the last two stone. Already had the trainers - got them properly fitted a few years ago when I tried again and got shin splints and then never so much as ran a step in them - until now.
So i rounded up the girls from work and we started in the middle of January doing week one after work, then increasing it to one minute running, one minute walk. At the start of Feb I had a weeks holiday and went onto week 2 properly in the comfort of my own village back roads and a big woolly hat and followed the plan from there. Week three went ok, and last Friday I went onto wk4 run 1 round the loch near work. Wasn't sure I'd make it, but Laura's calm reassurance did the trick again and then last night I did it again with the company of one of the experienced runners from work - she was really impressed at how much I'd come on and the time I was running for.
So - one more week 4 to do tomorrow, and then on Saturday it's time for week 5... Am sure that Laura's coaching will get through it!
