So I seem to have got into a bit of a habit of leaving rather a longer than intended gap between runs… Wk4r3 finally completed 9 days after WK4r1… Again a combination of weather and laziness/motivation… I bought myself some beer yesterday and promised myself I could have it when I’d done the wk4r3… Which might seem rather bizarre in view of my stated aims to lose weight and get fitter but it seemed to get me over the line! 😉🤣
Wk4 finally done…. Wk5 looks a tad concerning - Couch to 5K

Congratulations on completing week 4 of C25K, you can take as long as you want to complete any runs or week's of the course and you are entitled for that glass of beer after any runDon't worry about week 5 and especially run 3, the program has prepared you for it, take all the runs slowly, good luck.
Well done on completing week 4 !Why is week 5 concerning ?
It's one of the most satisfying weeks on the plan !
You have just completed the biggest increase by going from week 3 to complete week 4 !
Beer is, alcohol aside, a pretty good isotonic drink… one British ultra runner is sponsored by a German beer company (using their alcohol free colourings) There’s even an app for Garmin devices that shows you how many beers you’ve earned on a run 🤣 The key to losing a little weight while running for me is to half what the device says… so it says a run burned 500 calories, I count that as 250… same can be done with those beers!!
You’re doing great. It’s a tough time of year to motivate ourselves to get out and do it… and there’s nothing wrong with a 9 day week.
Well done on your progress.
This breakdown of W5 may help put it in perspective for you. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
All the W5 workouts are shorter than n W4, so just relax and enjoy it.
I completed wk4r3 yesterday and am also feeling daunted by next week, mainly due to reading lots of comments about it! I'll give it a go but might have to repeat wk4 as i didn't exactly find that a breeze but I'm putting my trust in the plan (and my knees). I'll be interested to see how wk5 people get on this week, not that I'm comparing or anything 🤣
Good luck for next week. I’ll also be interested to follow how everyone doing wk 5 gets on… (not that I’m comparing either! 🤣)
I am redoing C25k but because of bad weather have only averaged one run a week, so I've been stuck on week 3 for ages! I like week 3 and became rather reluctant to move on 😂
However, I did manage to do the first run of week 4 yesterday and my mojo kicked back in. I always take at least 2 days rest in between (being a senior)
