So that was interesting!

In some ways it was a lot harder than the first, mainly because as soon as I started the first run my shins and calves realised what I was doing and decided to try and do me in. There was definitely a lot of screaming of “nah bitch, we recognise this! Sit your ass down!” But I carried on! I also had to set myself goals when running, eg get to the next lamppost and it’ll be over!

However, I didn’t find myself sweating and panting at all, in fact on the rest periods I found myself calm and ready and waiting to run for a good ten seconds or so. When I’ve finished I’ve recovered so much quicker. Literally fine within five minutes, my husband even scowled and asked me if I’d chickened our and just walked it - cheeky fecker!

But I did it! Woo!

Just wait till you're going to bed early without booze on a Friday night just so you can leap out of bed on a Saturday to do parkrun. And then you come home and sign up to a 10k race! I know what you mean about not recognising yourself. Lol

Haha I bloody hope not! Saturdays are my contracted lay ins. I get Saturday the husband gets Sunday... might have to alter the contract 🤔

I do to, well, did, now I’m quite liking the feeling I get afterwards, sometimes I can’t be arsed but when I’ve done it I feel brilliant! I’ve heard that running is addictive 😆

Well done, but keep it nice and slow, so that you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run, which will help minimise the impact.

Stretch after every run, as per the guide to the plan.

I’m out of breath going up and down the stairs so this is a massive improvement

Glad you enjoyed your run today, it was a bit tiring, nevertheless it was good, onwards and upwards to run 3 of week 1, remember just take all the runs slowly and you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to. 😊 🏃

I think I might repeat this weeks just to keep my calves in check I’ll see how I get on.

Congrats on getting out there and beating that run into submission. Yes, your body does take a little time to resign itself to the fact that this is how it's going to be now. But once it does, it's no so bad. :)
