I lost weight

Morning everyone out there ...just to encourage someone starting on couch to 5k ... it definitely works and is achievable. I can run 30 minutes without stopping now at least 3 times a week and my legs are toned! and I have lost a lot of weight. My goal was to complete a 5k run for cancer research in memory of my sister and I achieved it in October.

Keep going perseverance is key and repeating each run until you’re running easily before moving to the next level ..TIP. I stayed on the same run until I was doing it without feeling like death was upon me before moving on to the next stage.

Congratulations and many thanks for the encouragement to others.

If you were feeling like death after some runs it sounds as if you may have been pushing too hard.

Counterintuitively, it is easy conversational pace running that builds your stamina and endurance, not fast running.

Say this sentence out loud to yourself "Am I going slow enough to enable me to speak this sentence in one out breath?" If you cannot, you are going too fast.

What a difference! Congratulations on a great achievement :-)

Did you combine C25K with a change in how you eat and drink?

Hi MO89, what an inspiration you are! And What an incredible incentive raising money for charity as you go!

You do look really lovely and elegant and very happy in both pictures, but I know from my own experience how great it feels to get toned and physically fit, so I’m sure the ‘new’ you feels amazing too!!. Yay!

You must have many wonderful memories of your sister, and equally she would be very proud of all you have achieved.

Very best wishes to you and your family : )

Congrats. Running on its own won't do it, though. My Doctor says, "Eat less. Exercise more"
