After an extra days rest from getting some knee pain I thought I'd give Week 6 Run 1 a go - worse case scenario I could walk home if the pain reappeared.
I'm super happy to say that I had no pain and, after the run, I took my dogs for a quite a long walk and was totally fine. That extra day rest made all the difference! I also really, really enjoyed this run - the 5/8/5 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after the 20 mins last week to end Week 5. I did take the first 5 mins pretty slowly to see how the knee felt though which probably helped.
I think it's so important to listen to your body on this program, there's no point in pushing it too hard, too soon, as things will break. I also don't want to jeopardise the progress I've made so far by having to take too much time off and start again.
I'm going to do Run 2 on Thursday morning so long as there are no ill effects after today.
Happy joggling everyone

As someone who did just that and spent the month after graduating limping and paying multiple visits to the physio (ankle sprain), I can't emphasise this enough.
Ankles are so awkward. I tore the ligaments in mine playing netball and even 6 years on the flex and mobility in it has never properly returned despite all the physio.
C25k is designed to be undertaken at an easy conversational pace........faster is less effective at developing your aerobic base...........so at no time should you be pushing hard.
After over a year of thinking a rest day was being lazy when I began doing 'at home work outs' I've managed to get my head around it now thanks to this forum - that they are as important as the run itself. Having an extra one made me feel so much better and my knee was really stable! My rest days are still active with walking the dogs but I make sure there's no impact exercises.
