After having a stinking cold this past week or so I had to put my running on hold but today I thought I'd try and do it...no great expectations of finishing, more a test to see how my chest would handle it. I've been getting out on some long dog walks in the morning chilly air which haven't caused much of a problem all week.
I'm happy to say that I completed Week 3 Run 3 π A week later than planned but I am pleased to have done it.
Thank you for all the advice about running in the cold with asthma, I used a snood around my nose and mouth to keep the air warmer which worked until the last bit of the final run when I freaked out as I went all claustrophobic but will use it again. I got to see a beautiful sunrise too. Joggle on!

Thanks! Not doing too bad, just a bit bunged up. The joggle this morning certainly freed up my chest a little which was good! I'm now feeling great after finishing the Week 3 runs and enjoying some nice positive vibes. The people I work with are getting a tad annoyed with my happy singing now though lol! π
Well done on getting back on it, itβs so easy to fall out of the programme when something like an injury or illness hits. This happened to me in 2019 after graduating and Iβve only just got going again so I applaud your resilience! Fellow asthmatic here too, the cold air exacerbates my chest and the snood trick is useful until itβs gets a bit too warm!
Thanks. I must admit if this was 18 months ago I probably would have remained hidden under the duvet and given up. At the moment I'm in a really good head space with everything and working hard on getting fitter. I am determined to get into jogging/running as it something I've never been any good at, unless it was in short fast bursts. I really love how supportive the people on this page and the Facebook page are towards each other too!
Nice to hear from a fellow asthmatic who has graduated! Well done on that and well done on coming back to it after your break, I'm sure that you'll get back into the swing of things quickly! Lets hope there aren't too many cold snaps to make us wheezy lol!!
