Week 1 First Run completed

I haven't been able to access the site for the last couple of days but I did my 1st run/brisk walk of week one on Sunday morning on the treadmill at the gym, followed by the usual routine I follow there. I've been planning to start for weeks and weeks, if not months, so it felt good to have made a start at last. I still ache a bit now but the plan is to get up early tomorrow and hit the gym and treadmill again before work. I'm telling lots of people so that when the alarm goes off at silly o'clock in the morning and I really want to stay in bed, I'll make myself get up so I don't have to admit to failure !! ;-)

Really impressed with the podcast.

Well done for getting started. Now you've told us all you will definitely have to keep going.

Woop woop! Congratulations on starting the plan!

When I started the plan I told people at work for the same reason as you, so that I wouldnt lose face and chicken out in the few week or so - but kept it a secret from my family.

Now my Mum comments on how 'smart' I look in my running gear and hi-viz jacket lol.

And you will soon be singing along to those songs as they do the rounds in future weeks. :P

Well done! I just started on Sat, much like yourself I had been wanting to start running for ages. Its such a great feeling knowing you have completed it without feeling like your going to keel over doesn't it.

I have told very few people that Iv started running. My husband and Dad are very positive rest of the family think I'm mad!! Maybe I should celebrate it more and let the folk at work know Im sure they will be positive.

Good Luck keep us posted

Thanks all ! I managed to get to the gym and thoroughly enjoyed myself - I upped my speed on both the walking and running bits and covered 3.25km compared with 2.8km on Sunday. I was pleased with that, although my legs have been a bit achey today ! Looking forward to the next attempt on Friday morning.
