After the last couple of days not feeling great and eating way too much dinner lastnight .. I woke up at 6am thinking do I really want to go out.. my head wasn’t in it and I was finding the excuses to stay in bed a bit longer… but I did get up had that first cuppa , stretch a bit , and headed out .. I won’t lie it was’nt great this morning I didn’t get a rush of energy or feel that runners high !!!(which I’m still waiting for 😂) infact it was my toughest run so far … But I showed up and completed a 28.45 min run non stop and I do feel happy I did it., I have promised myself to just show up and try .. so I’m rather hoping my next run will feel easier … I’m now thinking I should treat myself to a new pair of running shoes and I never dreamt I would be writing those words …thank you all for your support along the way …

Yes, I second that 👟 👟 Time for new shoes, buy the right ones for you though, it made a lot of difference to me (and my shins! 🙈) Happy running 🏃‍♀️ 😃

My worst run of the program was wk8 r1 - after a lack of sleep - but the two after that were a breeze. Seems like there are a whole bunch of factors that go into making it a good or bad run.

Well done, nearly at graduation. I still haven't been able to work out what makes a bad run, sometimes they are just really hard but they key is to keep going even on the days when we'd rather stay in bed.

Bad runs for me are when I feel like I’m counting the minutes to when I can stop and I’m digging deep to keep going .. good runs for me is when I’m actually enjoying the feeling of being able to keep going and having that energy to move with good sounds on my ear phones and fresh air in my face and yes I’m hot and sweating but I’m feeling great as I know I’m working my body for the better.. I must keep reminding myself it’s good for me lol!!

Ahh yes I really do as I know the ground will feel better and I will be supported .. it’s just the ones I’ve seen are around £180 and it’s a big expensive but worth it I’m sure in the long run (pardon the pun 😂) may I ask how you chose your shoes and which ones do you have ?

Oh my shoe journey has been eventful 🤣. The upshot is definitely go for a gait analysis - any decent running shop will do this for you, they will advise you and recommend shoes based on your analysis. In my case I go a size up from my normal shoe size because my toes really need the extra room, especially now doing longer distances. Buying shoes online is really pot luck, and can be expensive, or a hassle having to keep sending them back. They are an investment in your running and keeping you injury free. Happy shopping! 😊😊😊

Sorry forgot to say I have Nike Reacts - have been a lifelong Nike fan, but other brands are available! I also have some Brooks but prefer my Nikes at the mo. 😁

Wahhh I’ve been eyeing those up! Which ones? Let me know how you get on - they look amazing, I may also be tempted 😁.

New running shoes definitely give a boost. I think you’re absolutely right, you just have to get on and do it and sometimes the run will be great and many times it won’t.

I’ve now invested in a new pair of running shoes and really looking forward to trying them in the next couple of days .. it’s annoying as I now have a cold and ache all over otherwise I would of been out there today ..I’m excited to try them to see and feel the difference🙏😊🙏
