I would rename myself Cressida the Procrastinator if it wasn't so difficult to say!
I had planned to start Week 5 last Thursday but lack of energy and motivation and loads on at work stopped me. I then spent Friday and Saturday shaming myself for not having done what I planned I would on Thursday. I was so ashamed that I couldn't even write on this forum and just wanted to skulk in the shadows. Then just as I was on the brink of mentally losing the battle to stay on this programme, I pulled it back at the 11th hour and went out for a run this morning. So relieved, so pleased, and felt so good physically afterwards. I'm visiting my mum for the week on the coast so had a lovely run along the seafront. I decided to do another week 4 run this morning cos of my 3 day break. Next run - due on Tuesday - hope to start Week 5. Fingers crossed π

Glad you got out there in the end. Never be too ashamed to write on this forum. Youβll always find support and motivation here. Weβll help you get out the door πͺπ€
CressidaB Sometimes things in life do get in the way that stop us from doing things and you hardly lose any condition from not running for two weeks and after that loss is gradual.
Take some time out if you need to and start back on the programme where you feel comfortable, you are allowed to repeat a week or run if you want.
Well done! The mental attitude is half the battle (certainly is for me!) I have repeated weeks, especially after a break with illness. You just need to stick with it. You should be proud of yourself for pushing to carry on!!
haha, it's not unusual, I managed to put it off for 5 days! I ran last weds and when Friday came along I put it off til it was too late to go out. I cldn't possibly run on a weekend day so Sat and Sun came and went but then with huge effort I ran my W9R1 this morning (monday). I'm sure I read that you cld leave two weeks before losing the ability π€ Good luck on week 5. I may or may not run on Wednesday...........
Ha ha, very relatable, glad I'm not alone. Thanks. Yes, earlier in this feed drun said 'you hardly lose any condition from not running for two weeks and after that loss is gradual.' You are at week 9. How amazing. I will look forward to hearing about you graduating. Good luck! Thanks again π
Brilliant! No more skulking π, thatβs for sure. You beat the gremlins big time and had a lovely run, well done. Let us know how Tuesdayβs run goes, all the best. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Well done CressidaB for finding your running mojo π I set myself a time window to run on my running days which is anytime between 6 and 8am. I know itβs early but itβs cooler (I still get very hot and sweaty when running) and once done Iβm set for the day. I run on specific days, Saturday Monday and Wednesday. I then go for long walks in between running days. I find having a set week really helps me and keeps me motivated. Stick with it youβre doing brilliantly π
Tha Karis28, sounds like good idea to have a regular routine. I also love the early mornings. And walking on in-between days. Thanks for the sharing what works for you. Good luck π
