Brilliant 👏👏👏
Great stuff sp42. But I don’t understand the map. Did you tie a tracker to a housefly?🤣🤣
It’s amazing isn’t it?! That's strava on a treadmill lol x I loved it! Going to print this off to remind myself I may be unfit but I’m not THAT bad x so happy! X
Ah that’s just brilliant 🤩. Well done! 👍👍👍
Thanks guys, I cropped the run time only to strava to get an accurate pace. Outside on my runs I average 14-16 minute miles, soI was truly shocked at the difference on a treadmill! But I do also feel like I’m “cheating” to get that time! To have that time on my hills and fields I would be a super athlete haha
WOW that's literally cut in half, I guess you aren't unfit afterall. 👍👏
Did you deliberately leave the phone GPS on during your run? 😂
I assume you''ve worked out your 10 min/mile pace from the stats on the treadmill display rather than the Strava app ... cos otherwise ... 🤔
8 minute miles in the photo! 😶😬🤣
on a treadmill with the GPS on ... think about it...
Are you making fun of me? Trying to make it that I tried to make myself faster or something? My name is slowpoke. My polar flow shows the same time , cropped to run time only. I came onto this forum for support and for encouragement not mocking like this I am very disappointed. Last time I graduated I didn’t have one mocking comment to make me feel like I was doing something stupid . Thank you for making me feelReally bad tonight
I'm sorry, that's not my intention *at all*. I know you are NOT trying to make yourself faster.
I think you've misunderstood your Strava and Polar Flow (you have a Polar Watch with GPS?) - that's all, and it's very understandable. I've seen this before on here.
Very simply: the GPS on your watch/phone is not designed to be used for indoor running. Have a look to see if your watch has a 'treadmill' or 'indoor running' mode.
Let me explain ... this is to do with having your GPS switched on your phone or Polar watch when trying to run indoors. The GPS tries to find where you are on the planet , and gives that information to your phone/watch every second or so. It is not meant for calculating distance moved inside a building - it simply isn't accurate enough because the signal between your phone and the satellite (36,000 miles away) doesn't not penetrate buildings very well.
This is why your Strava (and your Polar Flow) shows that funny zig-zag trace of your run - the GPS really didn't know with any accuracy where you were. It was guessing. Therefore the distance (and therefore pace) of 2.76 miles
If the GPS was much more accurate, it would have given you a distance of (sorry) exactly 0.00 miles. Why? Because the treadmill itself wasn't actually moving - the belt was. Is that clear or have I confused you? I hope not!
When I run on treadmill, I always ignore what my Garmin says and I take the distance and pace from the treadmill display - that's the most accurate way of knowing how far and quickly I've run.
Again, my apologies - I wasn't trying to make fun of you.
