W8R2 - feeling rested after 2 day break

Due to the side effects from my second jab I had my first ever two day break of the programme and I think it made a real difference, I couldn’t believe it when Laura said time was up and I definitely could have kept going longer. Absolutely loved today’s run, my favourite of the programme so far!

Well done !My 2nd jab floored me for about 6 days 😐

Oh no, I hope you’re much better now! It was only two days for me but I felt rotten and I was surprised as I only had about half a day of feeling grotty after the first. Weirdly last time my arm was in agony for a week and this time it’s not even tender. Hopefully it all means a good immune response though!

Yes, fine now thanks , had a couple of runs since including the virtual London 10k and all good 👍

The first jab (AZ) made me very, very tired and I took nearly 2 weeks off (this break wasn’t only due to the vaccine, my knees were playing up). Second time no side effects but decided to give myself 3 days as I didn’t want to push things. I did wk 8 run 1 and it was SUCH hard work, but when I did my next run I was fine. All being well run 3 is tomorrow. We’ve got this!

I've my 2nd Pfizer on Tuesday. Hoping I'll be ok for a run Wednesday/Thursday🤞 I do 3 runs a week so I've a 2day rest built in. I get a little nervous before the following run but like you, I usually have good energy after the 2 day break.😀

I was nervous this time too! I’ve only ever had one day off but two definitely seems to have benefited me, good luck!

It’s good to have at least one two-day break each week. 3 runs per week 👍🏽

I’ve always found every other day a better rhythm for me mentally (and I’m not a new runner so I’m not quite as worried about overdoing it as I might be otherwise) but the physical impact of the rest on the next run has made me think I might switch when I move on to consolidation runs and then bridge to 10k 👍🏻

Yes a two day break is good and I’m always keen to get back, glad jab wasn’t too bad I was floored by both🥴 but grateful to be vaccinated.

I had my 2nd AZ jab on Thursday and after a dreadful week following the first jab I was dreading it. I did my week 2 ,run 2 the following day as planned and it was so hard ..but today wk2 run 3 I found it enjoyable and over very quickly ( I did have a forest to run in today which made time pass quickly ) Good luck 🍀
