Ooof...that was some rain this morning...torrential...with hail included!
It’s was ‘long run’ day today...should’ve been around 8k but I managed to push for 10...even though I was absolutely soaked to the skin! It was fairly bright when I set off but soon the greyness was hovering above my head, just waiting until I got into my rhythm! Sure enough, about 2k in, the heavens opened...then they opened a bit more...I was running on the local greenway which is the old railway track from years gone by so there are bridges & today they were shelters! But not for me, oh no, I felt that rain...& it made me smile...& I felt strong...infact, I think I had a bit of a Forrest Gump moment where I just wanted to keep on running...I even got a round of applause from a lovely old couple who were sheltering in the shadows...I think I’m bordering on madness when I’m running in the rain...I’m like a child splashing in the puddles!
I thought summer was round the corner a couple of weeks ago but there’s no sign of it now....
I used to just get wet in the rain too...but now, it’s a different story....
Love it! For some reason the rain just makes me feel alive and I’m always grateful I have a warm house and a warm shower to get back to. Always hopeful the family are out on those kind of runs so I can strip off into a puddle on the tiled hallway! Great run report!!
Oh yes Sparkey5000 ...the shower felt so warm after I’d shivered all the way back home in the car!! My Hubby was in when I got back as he was trying to knock a couple of jobs of his never ending list...he just looked at me like I was bonkers!!! He knows what to expect now though...🤪
So glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t mind a bit of rain, I totally agree, it’s very liberating isn’t it? I love reading your posts, good to know I’m not the only ‘nutter’ splashing around out there!😄
Who’s not tempted by a puddle Hidden ??? The rain is wonderful...perhaps not every run but a good old drenching just reminds us who’s in charge out there!!! I certainly looked like a nutter to all the people sheltering under the bridges!! Never mind...once a nutter, always a nutter 🤣
Yep, we were born waterproof, we just seem to forget this as we get older! 🤣
I and my two pals got soaked Sunday over 2 hrs in heavy showers but enjoyed it overall. I forgot my towel to sit on on the way home in the car but the seat has dried out! 🤣
Brilliant GoGo_JoJo ...I know you’re a hardened runner who doesn’t mind the odd weather challenge!!! I started off with my extremely thin jacket on but after 5 mins I was down to my vest top & shorts....my legs were a bit pink though with the hail firing onto my bare skin!! 🌧
Ah well done! It sounds such a lovely run. I got soaked too on Sunday. I stuck my tongue out to try and rehydrate by catching raindrops 💦💦💦. Well done Forrest! 🏃♀️💧🏃♀️💧🏃♀️💧🏃♀️💧🏃♀️
I have to say, given the choice, I avoid downpours, a bit of light drizzle is refreshing though, perhaps I have been darn sarf too long? Glad you enjoyed it though 👸🏼MC. x
