Week9 run3 finished!

Hi all, this morning I did the last run of week 9 and finished the C25K app! Loved it all the way. The weather was a sunny 12deg with a slight breeze, tshirt weather, so took off the windproof jacket during the warm up. The farmer has now moved cows with little calves into the lambs field. They do make you laugh when they are watching you at the fence and when they jump around πŸ˜€.

Reading all your run reports has made me pay a lot more attention to where I am running, much more than usual anyway, and since it was the graduation run today I remembered to take some pics as well. It is like a little Scottish bingo card! I start the run by passing the kiltmakers on the main street. Then when leaving the village I pass the haggis and black pudding factory. I make it to whisky barrel storage facility at the half way point where you can actually smell the whisky on a calm day. I can see hills in the distance. It strikes me that if I ever do increase to 10km it'll take me past a field of highland cows and a golf course and bowling green. A half marathon would tick off the shortbread factory. I think the only thing missing is a Loch - of which there are none!

I just want to say thanks to everyone for the encouragement and tips. It has helped a lot and I'm sure it's what's got me to the end of the app without giving up. You are an amazing group of people πŸ‘ I think I'm feeling quite emotional now 😊

Do you live in Scotland?, as you say the only thing missing is a loch, I live in Scotland, I can see the hills which are not too far away from where I live, I run around a loch which is on part of my 5K/10K running route, but I don't pass a Kilt shop, Haggis or Black Pudding factory.

Congratulations on graduating from C25K, well done, to get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE πŸŽ“ next to your username leave a message in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked May graduate home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated πŸŽ“

Thank you I'll do that. I live in the central belt. The route I'm running is like a different version of the butcher, baker and candlestick maker! That must be lovely to run beside a loch. Ive got a busy A road so it's a lot of squinting when the trucks go by when all the grit flies up. I bet we both get the midgies!

I run round Broadwood Loch Cumbernauld, most of my running is around the 8 to 10 in the morning times so midges are never too bad at that time of day.

Congratulations! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ†πŸ₯‚πŸ…

Once you've consolidated for a few weeks you can try the Magic plan to 10K. Maybe in a couple of months you'll be passing the golf course and the bowling green. The shortbread factory would be another two months off.

Thanks! Yeah I'll definitely do consolidation first and vary the route while I do. The current one is a bit straight with only 1 slight short hill in it.

You could also run past a Porridge, Tatty Scone, Stovie and an Irn Bru factory although that Irn Bru factory isn't a million miles from where I run.

πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ I was thinking that with a marathon I could bag Edinburgh castle but I guess it would take an ultra to get the irnbru factory! Might be pushing it just now tho πŸ™ƒ

The Irn Bru factory is at the very end of Cumbernauld, although I don't pass it on any of my runs it is only a 5 minute walk from where I run situated at the edge of the country side on one side and the wooded parkland on the other side where I run.

Can you smell it from outside? I think it would drive me daft if I could smell it every time I went passed. The Paterson's shortbread factory is a nightmare of temptation, it's lucky I don't pass it regularly!

No, I have never smelled anything from the Barr Soft Drink factory in Cumbernauld, by the way the annual Cumbernauld 10k passes it around 3K into that run, there is a YouTube video taken by a spectator right outside of the factory of runner's taking part in the 10K.

πŸ™ŒπŸΌ WooHoo!

Well done you...it’s a brilliant feeling isn’t it! Loving the Scottish bingo card pix 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Defo spend a few weeks now running regular 30 minute runs...it’s amazing how soon this becomes your new β€œnormal” πŸ˜‚

If you want to increase your distance, you can then follow the Magic Plan for time or distance...depending on how fast you are πŸ˜‰

Happy running...runner! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ
