So it will mend, patience is the key thing we all mend differently.
I did my ankle on a squash court, and it's all good now, but it takes time. I my was suggested by a Dr I played squash with about learning to balance to get that strength back. He mentioned the trick with the board on a cushion so you can balance on the injured ankle and pivot to get the mobility back do it doesn't mend leaving you with restrictive movement. But also simply when sitting, rolling your ankle, simply exercises like pointing toes and almost writing the alphabet in the air, try these things....... Oh and walking, and the ice as basics they'll all help.
We are not experts and would suggest that even though you have seen a Physio', getting it checked out by a medical expert could be helpful.Hidden has given you some tips which worked in his case, but as we are all different.. if these are not helping and there is still swelling, then please do get a medical opinion.
Thanks Oldfloss- I just wanted to know people get better are are running again! Appreciate everyoneβs experiences are different and so are recovery times. I will get in touch with my physio again
Because of relatively poor blood flow, ankles can take a long time to heal.............I was away from running for about a month last time I very lightly twisted an ankle.
To improve blood flow, cycling may be appropriate as it keeps the joint mobile aiding recovery, without weight bearing.
