Sprained ankle
There isn't much to say about an ankle sprain, in his defence.
Do some upper body and core work while you wait for it to recover. Time is never lost.
Ouch...Epsom salts...in a bowl of water? They don't really do a lot, but I just like the idea of it.. ( takes me back to my youth...)
Best listen to Rignold...he is sensible!
Ankles are funny things and can take a long time to heal. Take care of it and, if it's still hurting after about a month, get some physio. In the meantime, Rig is right, do lots of other strengthening exercises to maintain your aerobic fitness. Good luck
Thanks for the replies I will take on board all you've said. I'm still upset disappointed and disheartened. I started this journey with a club and I've really enjoyed it, now the others at the club will continue to run and get better and I'm getting left behind. By the time this stupid ankle is up to running again I'll be set way back and the club will be too advanced for me. They only do one beginners Club a year so it's not an option to join another beginners club. I know there's nothing I can do and nothing anyone can say because the fact is I have to rest it until it's healed end of story. Just wanted to vent my frustrations
Go ahead and vent, we all understand. You will complete the programme with the podcasts and then you can find a running club to run with others. I know you're disappointed and it is not want you wanted but you will get there all the same.
